A geothermal power plant produces geothermal energy. The word “geothermal” is actually a combination of two Greek words – geo and therme with geo meaning earth and therme meaning heat. Geothermal energy is produces by the steam and hot water coming from the core of the earth. There are a lot of advantages of geothermal energy that makes it a more feasible option compared to fuels and other sources. The biggest advantage of geothermal energy is that it’s CLEAN. It allows energy to be extracted without burning fossil fuels like oil, coal or gas.
